Photographs capture one moment, a slice of time that has come and gone and can never be experienced again. I am part of a new collaborative venture made up of photographers taking photographs at an agreed upon time over the course of one month. Our project is called “Once Upon a Time in the World”. At the end of the month we will share our favorites, and you can follow the links to see the images of every participating artist.

For January, our agreed upon time was 7:15 am. For the record, I am not a morning person. And only one of my two kids is as well. Regardless, I managed to get some interesting images for this, our first month.

Here are some of my images, as well as a collage of all our favorites. Don’t forget to jump over here to see Dawn’s images!

  • Once Upon A Time In The World for January » Kellie Brindley Photography - […] When I rekindled my love for photography, I found myself in a class with a group of amazing women from all around the country and the world.  Throughout the (now) years, we’ve continued to learn together and support one another.  So when it was time to start a project for 2016, it was a no-brainer to collaborate with these talented artists!  We’ve chosen to focus on moments in time and for this month we found ourselves shooting at 7:15am.  Be sure to follow the circle to see all the beauty, starting with Lauren of Lauren Henry Photography. • Reva Wilson - Life comes and goes in an instant, never to be experienced again. Except for photography, the art of capuring one moment, a slice of time otherwise lost and relegated to memory. Wonderful photos.ReplyCancel

  • Dawn Blundell Dej - Love these moments you captured! Beautiful morning light!ReplyCancel

  • Sarah Joos - What a great moment at the skating rink, not a big action shot but a calm moment after what must have been a time with lots of fun!ReplyCancel

  • Reva Baumann Wilson - Life comes and goes in an instant, never to be experienced again. Except for photography, the art of capuring one moment, a slice of time otherwise lost and relegated to memory. Wonderful photos.ReplyCancel

Taking a good black and white photograph is a challenge because you need to see in shades of tone rather than in color itself. I tend to look for color and how it works together rather than how each color will translate into black and white. Here are a few images in their starkest form.
